Eloise King | Active Listening for Better Work, Life & Relationship Results

Summary:

The School of Life rates listening as: ”one of the most important and enchanting life skills a person can have”. Check out why this is their perspective in this short video here. As many experts will attest, active listening is a skill that is simple in theory but difficult in practice. As such, it’s important to take time to understand the benefits, including that the active listener is often the one who controls the conversation and its outcome. This workshop teaches you how to become an active listener and the benefits for you, your family, your business as well as your social networks.

This workshop includes:

  1. Psychoeducation – learning about the 5 key steps in active listening and the difference it can make to your relationships, business and literally every area of your life
  2. Doing the work – breaking down the 5 key active listening steps and applying the new understanding of in practice sessions with forum members
  3. Group share – sharing thought and experiences about active listening in order to deepen individual understanding of its application, feel into the practical uses post workshop, and strengthen bonds between group members.

Each workshop member will walk away with:

  1. A thorough understanding of active listening and what the benefits are
  2. The different felt experience of active vs passive listening
  3. Clarity around how to be an active listener
  4. Confidence in personal capacity to develop or strengthen active listening as a key skill for better work-life-relationship results

As the President of The Anthropology Society at The University of Sydney, she developed a deep appreciation for the role of culture in shaping people’s reality.
