From Doubt to Empowerment: How EO helped me thrive personally and professionally

Without doubt EO has had a transformative impact on my life.

An impact that I never fully appreciated at the outset. Initially, I didn’t grasp the true potential of this incredible organisation; I underestimated the profound impact it could have on both my personal and professional journey. It was not until the time that I fully immersed myself in the EO community that everything changed for the greater.

One of my first breakthroughs came from introducing values into my team meetings. It may sound obvious however until I decided to invest more of my time to EO and let my guard down and through deep conversations with EO Members and in Forum was when I was rewarded with greater and valuable experience shares that not only opened my eyes but also demonstrated that my fellow peers from different industries shared that same issues! Furthermore having access to the EO Mentor/Mentee program and being paired with an industry heavyweight demonstrated the significance of having clarity of values, vison and mission to the team. The transformation was remarkable. By aligning our team around shared values, we grew stronger, more cohesive, and more effective.

Furthermore some of the most significant changes occurred within me! Friends, colleagues, and business contacts began to notice a shift. They commented on my newfound clarity and confidence, and I knew I was evolving. This year, my commitment to EO deepened when I joined the Queensland Board, reinforcing my understanding of the value this organisation offers.

EO is more than just a network; it’s the people you meet, the in-depth discussions you have, and the learnings you take from these. Hand on my heart, EOers truly are there to support each other. During a particularly challenging time in my life, when I separated from my partner and faced emotional hurdles, it was my fellow EO members who stood by me. They offered the understanding and encouragement I needed to navigate that tough period. Knowing that I can now be that source of support for others facing similar struggles is incredibly fulfilling. We truly have each other’s backs.

To anyone considering joining EO, I encourage you to take the leap. The changes I have experienced in both my business and personal life have surpassed anything I could have imagined. EO has the power to transform your life—embrace it, and you’ll discover strengths and connections you never knew you had.
