EO Moderator Summit: Like Going on an Adventure with my Tribe

Sharing her recent experiences at the 2024 EO Moderator and Leadership Summit in Fremantle, Perth

I have been fortunate to attend three EO moderator summits and each time have found that I have learnt something new that helps me to be a better forum member and leader in both my professional and personal life.

The key for me is to attend with an open mind and a preparedness to share with and to learn from other EOers. It’s this deepening connection with other members that I really value. And yes, maybe it sounds corny but I liken my experience at the Summit to going on an adventure with my tribe.

I had the opportunity to connect with members that I hadn’t known well which helped me to understand them both professionally and personally. As a forum chair that was in particular important as I like to understand my moderators better.

I met many members from other chapters and gained new insights as well as friends that I can visit when I travel to Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, New Zealand, Malaysia or Indonesia. And although I learnt much from these EOers, I realised how well the Queensland Chapter operates and how engaged our members are.

And of course, it’s not all about sharing and learning, there was time for some R&R. In particular a very entertaining dinner in the Fremantle Jail that really was a highlight.

I have never regretted travelling to an EO event and this time was no different.

Great people, terrific learnings, and an amazing time. Say no more.
